This type of pictures is usually used for editorial functions – sports activities photographers usually work for newspapers, news wire companies or sports magazines. However, sports photography can be used for advertising functions, whether or not it’s to build a model or to advertise a sport. While most sports activities photographers work full-time for publications and sport groups, others prefer to work as freelancers, choosing and choosing who they work for.
I do not prefer to (cover up) flaws and Photoshop every element (to perfection), but I do like playing and experimenting with color palettes to create different results and outcomes. This is the part I spend most time on with publish-production (but) I benefit from the brainstorming process and capturing photos extra. What influences me probably the most from Chinese tradition is the color purple and Chinese opera. Red is a colour I’m quite keen on and incessantly use in my photography to create a powerful impression. I pursue (a similar strategy) in my photography, (as every facet of) my pictures has to be crafted and polished.
